Rod Vermilio is a dynamic entrepreneur whose journey from design/build general contractor to pioneering sports day trader epitomizes resilience and adaptability. Rod’s path to success has been marked by both entrepreneurial spirit and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
His professional journey began at the age of 19, igniting a trajectory that saw him working with many Fortune 500 companies, HGTV personalities, pro athletes, and entertainers. As a contractor in Florida, specializing in the restaurant/commercial sector and high end (up to $8 million) design/builds, Rod’s ventures also extended to ownership of a building supply company and amassing a real estate portfolio.
When the shockwaves of the 2009 real estate crash hit, Rod was forced to pivot…and move from his beautiful 7,000 square foot Florida home. He rediscovered his college-era fascination with sports (having played basketball and baseball through the college level), as well as an obsession with the direct correlation between math, statistics, and algorithms as related to forecasting the outcome of sports betting and day trading. He also took his first trip to Las Vegas, the epicenter of the industry. (Also, the only place where there were multiple opportunities to sports bet in 2010.)
Rod dove into the trenches and dedicated five years to writing and refining the five software platforms in use by GBSN today, leveraging mathematical equations, algorithms, moving averages, and statistical analysis and probabilities. During 2022 and 2023, Rod personally ran over $6 million of his own money through sportsbooks such as Westgate, Stations Casino, Circa, and others, in Las Vegas.

Setting him apart is his innate ability to foresee market trends and pioneer groundbreaking solutions well ahead of the curve.
Growing up in a small town in southern Germany, Yannic demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit at an early age. While his friends played with Legos or watched cartoons, he was playing “business” – envisioning and dreaming about future business ventures.
At the age of 16, Yannic launched an internet agency. That set the stage for a diverse career including freelance roles across Europe, co-founding three agencies, and spearheading a U.S.-based tech startup developing one of the first entertainment streaming platforms for Asia. In 2007, Yannic became Germany’s first service provider for Facebook social media marketing, pioneering in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Rick Jorgenson

Bringing over 25 years in marketing and advertising to GSBN, Rick’s expertise is a valuable asset to the company. Upon meeting Rod, he swiftly recognized GSBN’s vast potential and how he could significantly contribute to its success.
He grew up in California’s Imperial Valley, where his father managed large agricultural growing operations. He left home to attend the highly selective UCLA Film School but left just shy of graduating to produce and direct a now-cult surf film, “In the Mist of Summer.” Rick also founded a location scouting company in Southern California. When an actor’s strike temporarily shut down the entertainment industry, he pivoted to the book publishing business and joined Dell, headquartered in New York.
With a young family, Rick tired of the travel required by his position at Dell. And, recognizing the potential of the burgeoning digital realm, he started a consulting business and quickly became known as a digital specialist. Rick executed online lead generation campaigns for major Fortune companies such as IBM, Microsoft and DirecTV. He then joined Scantron, an international leader in assessment and survey products and services, as Director of Sales & Marketing.
In 2014, Rick joined the advertising agency Young Company as Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing, where he led a team focused on brand development, web-based marketing, competitive research, and SEO.
At the beginning of 2017, Jorgenson decided to leave the structure of the agency business to return to consulting, finding the most satisfaction in collaborating closely with clients to drive growth and progress.

Darius McDougle

Darius has enjoyed a career in business leadership spanning two decades. He has never shied away from challenges but, rather, embraced them as opportunities for growth and learning. In his own words, “I have a reputation for disrupting the status quo.”
Darius grew up in Southfield, Michigan and, coming out of high school, was ranked number 33 among the nation’s centers. He was recruited by several colleges, including Purdue, Michigan State, Colgate, and Cleveland State. He chose Purdue for both its basketball program and its academic excellence, ultimately earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
His professional journey began with a passion for marketing and design, leading to positions as a web and graphic designer. This foundation paved the way for opportunities developing media strategies and campaigns. Darius’ career trajectory continued with executive roles such as Vice President of Marketing and CMO at companies including Pinnacle Minds, Infinix Media, Antenna, and Smart ERC.
Darius devotes considerable time to philanthropic work, serving on the boards of Speak Up for Kids of Palm Beach County and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, who named him Man of the Year in 2021.
He has received numerous accolades, including African-American Achievers in Marketing by AAA (2021), Top 20 Black Marketers to Admire by BMAA (2023), and was named among The Top 10 Most Inspiring Black Corporate Executives of the Year (2023).
